North Carolina tax free holiday is scheduled for August 7 - 9, 2009

Each year the state of North Carolina creates a sales tax holiday for back-to-school items.

This holiday will be observed on Friday of August 7th and ends on Sunday August 9th 2009. These three days offer shoppers the opportunity to save money on many back-to-school essentials and other items. 
 

The tax free items include:

Clothing - $100.00 or less.

Sport or recreational equipment - $50.00 or less.

Computers - $3,500 or less.

Computer supplies - $250.00 or less.

School supplies - $100.00 or less.

School instructional materials - $300.00 or less.

CATAWBA VALLEY RESIDENTS ARE ASKED TO :  PLEASE SHOP LOCALLY

Last fall the Catawba County Chamber of Commerce kicked off its Shop Hickory Metro campaign. The Chamber encouraged all area residents to try to keep their purchases local to the four counties of Alexander, Burke, Caldwell, and Catawba Counties so that as much money as possible stays in our area.

It is especially important this year due to the current financial crisis gripping our country.  So wherever possible do your part to keep our area vibrant and full of shopping options by Shopping Hickory Metro!!!
